Create Notes

Create text notes directly in Moongraph without uploading a file. Notes are stored as documents and can be included in searches, graphs, and Agent queries.

Steps

  1. Navigate to Files in the sidebar
  2. Click + Add in the top-right corner
  3. Click Create Note (or select the Note tab)
  4. Enter a Title for the note
  5. Enter the note Content (supports plain text)
  6. Click Create Note

The note is saved as a document and appears in your files list.

Use cases

Add context — Create notes to add background information that isn't in your uploaded documents

Annotations — Write summaries or commentary on specific documents or topics

Supplementary information — Add facts, definitions, or references that should be searchable

Quick capture — Jot down information to be included in searches and queries

Notes vs uploaded documents

Notes:

  • Created and edited directly in Moongraph
  • No file upload needed
  • Plain text content

Uploaded documents:

  • Files from your computer
  • Retain original formatting and layout
  • Support images, tables, and complex structures

Both are treated the same for search, graphs, and Agent queries.
